​CSS3812 – Industrial Training

Course Description

To expose students to the real working environment related to software engineering majors; to provide opportunity for the students to apply knowledge gained in the class to solve problems in real life situation; and to enhance students’ skills in preparation and presentation of reports. ​Twenty four weeks on job training at (any of the following) material suppliers, consulting or construction firms, development firms, government department and statutory bodies related to software engineering practices. Nature of works encompasses software development, project management, IT administration etc. Work experience is recorded in work diary, training report, and presentation upon completion.

Course Outcome

Upon completion of this course, students should be able to:

  • Educate graduates with sufficient knowledge and skills in the field of software engineering in sync with appropriate attitude to work in the industry.
  • Develop graduates with abilities for effective communication, collaborative working in diverse teams, and continual development through professional involvement.
  • Provide education for the nurturing of researchers in software engineering and technology who are engaged in lifelong learning, stay informed of the emerging technologies and contemporary issues.
  • Demonstrate the responsibilities as software engineer and involve in the industrial with enthusiasm.
